7 months ago, I decided I needed to do something with myself. I was feeling tired, sluggish, and unhealthy. Typical gyms had nothing to offer me, and I paid for them, but seldom used them. I noticed Crossfit Prosperity on my way home from work and decided to see what it had to offer. There is a lot of negative talk around crossfit, but when I met Craig, he assured me it was safe, and that he would help me to reach my goals. I was nervous, feeling very self conscious, and hoped I had made the right choice. I was the oldest member, and the most overweight. I will tell you, right from the first day, I have never felt so comfortable in a gym. The only expectations were the ones I placed on myself. There were no judgments, only encouragement. And this was not just from Craig, but other members as well. When I felt like I was dying, and the last one to finish the WOD, I was not judged, I was cheered on! I quickly learned that there was nothing to be ashamed of, and that all I had to do was my best, and that was enough.
Craig is able to see where each of his members are at, and modify any workout as needed, making it possible for those at all fitness levels, to be successful. I have lost 35 pounds and gained strength I had not known for a long time. I have made huge progress, increasing weights, building endurance, and learning new skills. Most importantly, I have gained confidence and a sense of pride. My 20 year old daughter and I started together, and she has also had amazing results! It has strengthened our relationship and I’ve watched her grow more confident as well. I couldn’t ask for more as a mother. I have met some amazing people, and have built new friendships. I still have a way to go to reach my goals, but I now know that I can do it! Thank you to Craig Robertson and my Crossfit Prosperity family for pushing me to be my best and keeping me motivated.
